When Is the Best Time to Be Pregnant?

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

Do you want to get pregnant? Chart your ovulation period.  In the case  that you’ve want to get a great idea about when you’re most fruitful, an ovulation chart could be your best friend. Quite truthfully, though some do ovulate on that day, there are multiple ladies who don’t. A good ovulation chart can simply clear up this problem for them.

An ovulation chart is done by charting your temperature every day. You can not just take any temp though , it must be your fundamental temp.

This is what you’ll get when you wake up in the morning. You must take your temp before you get up, go to the bathroom, or do anything more. This works best when you remember to do it every day, but you can still get a great idea of what’s going on if you miss 1 or 2 days. When you temp goes up 4 days in a row, you may be sure you have released an egg. The final day of low temps is the day of ovulation. If you do this some months in a row, you’ll get a general idea of when is the best time to have sex for conceiving. It may change every month, but you’ll have a general idea of your cycle by that point, and you can select the best times. Charts to trace ovulation can tell you many things, and those are only two of them.

What is homoeopathy?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Homoeopathy  is medicine system developed and introduced by a German physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. He came across a called Cullen’s Materia Medica where he read about cinchona which can cure malaria but produces similar symptoms like chills and aching on healthy individuals.

Through that experiment, Dr. Hahnemann found out that any drug which can produce a set of symptoms on a healthy human being can be used to cure the similar symptoms in a diseased person. He gave cinchona to various malaria patients and the result was wonderful and a system called homoeopathy originated. The word homoeo means similar, pathy means suffering.

The basic principle of homoeopathy is ’similia similibus curantur’ means like cures cure.Hahnemann prepared some other drugs using alcohol as a vehicle and started experimenting on different age groups and noted down the symptoms produced in them.He proved nearly 30 drugs and the symptoms produced  were noted down systematically. The symptoms collected by drug proving were categorized in the order in a book form  named materia medica pura.

How was homoeopathy developed?

The Organon of Medicine is a book written where all the principles of homoeopathy can be found. Right from the beginning of homoeopathy somany doctors of other system started working against homoeopathy. Physicians like Dr J T Kent, Dr Hering, Dr Boenonghausen are among others who followed Dr Hahnemann’s mission and developed the system. They all started preparing so many other drugs on the basis of guidelines given by Hahnemann.

A process called potentisation where the same drug were made in different levels of potency. They found that by increasing the potency, the penetrating power of medicine is increased so that it act on a higher level than the usual material form of drugs used in other systems. This unique nature of homoeopathic medicine is the reason for the wonderful cures of even the mental diseases.

What are the general principles in homoeopathy?

  • Homoeopathy treats the diseased individual as a whole rather than treating diseased parts or organs.
  • The physical, mental, emotional, social spheres of a person is considered for a permanent cure.
  • Homoeopathy believes thet the real desease comes before the bacteria & viruses, hence the root cause of the disease has to be treated for a permenent cure
  • Diseases are produced by noxious morbific agents called Miasms which are dynamic influences which affect the vital force. There are mainly three miasms psora , syphilis  & sycosis
  • These three causes are accepted by other schools of medicine but called by different names. Psora causes functional disturbances, syphilis causes structural changes in the form of destructions and sycosis causes changes in the form of overgrowth.
  • These three miasms can act individually or in combined form to produce different disease conditions.

How to prepare the medicines in homoeopathy

Medicines are prepared from these substances by a special process called potentisation. Here the soluble  substances are potentised by diluting(mixing with spirit with a downward stroke) with spirit and insoluble substances by grinding(trituration) with sugar of milk. The crude drug substance is first mixed with a calculated quantity of spirit and water and kept for few days.

From this mixture extract is taken and is called mother tincture(denoted as Q).From this mother tincture dilutions are prepared by potentisation.

Potentisation is a mathematical process by which the quantity of original drug substance reduces but medicinal power increases. Depending upon the ratio of quantity of drug substance and vehicle(spirit or sugar of milk)there are different scales for this process. Each scale has got different potencies which indicate power of medicine.

Example in decimal scale the drug substance vehicle ratio is1/10 and the availables potencies are 3x,6x.12x ect.In centismal scale the ratio is 1/100 and the available potencies are 30c,200c ect,in LM potency the ratio is 1/50000 and the available potencies are 0/1,0/2,0/3 etc.

Potency is written after the name of every medicine.

Alcohol and the Blood

Monday, June 29th, 2009

According to Dr. Richardson, alcohol will need to be diluted with water in order for it to be absorbed in the body. It has also been found out that alcohol is greedy for water which makes the drinker thirsty. When it has exhausted its power of reception, it will then diffuse into the circulating fluid.

When the alcohol passes in the lungs, some of it will be raised into a vapor by natural heat then expelled via expiration. If the quantity is large we can be able to detect alcohol odor in the breath.

After it has passed through the lungs, and has been driven by the left heart over the arterial circuit, it passes into what is called the minute circulation, or the structural circulation of the organism. The arteries here extend into very small vessels, which are called arterioles, and from these small vessels they go to the veins which become the great rivers bearing the blood back to the heart. In its passage through this minute circulation the alcohol finds its way to every organ.

All the organs in the body will be saturated with alcohol through the blood. In some of these parts which are not excreting, it remains for a time diffused, and in those parts where there is a large percentage of water, it remains longer than in other parts. From some organs which have an open tube for conveying fluids away, as the liver and kidneys, it is thrown out or eliminated, and in this way a portion of it is ultimately removed from the body. The rest passing round and round with the circulation, is probably decomposed and carried off in new forms of matter.

The red corpuscles of the blood perform the most important functions in the body as they absorb the oxygen which we inhale in breathing, and carry it to the tissues of the body, the carbonic acid gas which is produced in the combustion of the body in the extreme tissues, and bring that gas back to the lungs to be exchanged for oxygen there; in short, they are the most important instruments of the circulation. And when they are affected by alcohol they undergo changes  plus their abilities are impaired.

Walk Your Way to Good Health

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Walking for exercise is an example of the healthiest of hobbies. If you are like most folks, you sit in a chair for the bulk of the day, drive home and then sit before the tube. This can end up in a too-big behind and health conditions you do not need. Walking for exercise is an example of the best things you can do for yourself. Done regularly, you stay trim, keep your heart healthy, with good circulation and reduced stress. Who can object? The trick is essentially doing it each day. You can enjoy going for a stroll each now and then, but you will not harvest the health benefits by taking a walk once a month. Approach walking for exercise as a nice past-time, not as work. By the end of the first week, you can feel deprived if you do not go for your daily constitutional. You can also be sleeping better and be less wired. If you live in an agricultural area, there are many routes you can map out for your walking for exercise program. It is amazing how few folk in agricultural areas take regular walks.

You will soon be familiar with each tree, berry bush and flowering cherry on the way. Having some different routes makes walking for exercise more fascinating, which keeps you keepin’ on.

If you live in the town, there are lots of walking routes to take.

Walk at a pace with which you’re cosy. Stop to browse in that shop you never knew was there as you drove by. In inclement weather, drive to a museum for your daily walk and learn something new at the same time. In the outskirts, walk outside of your own neighborhood and get a better sense of your community as you are walking for exercise. Stop and discuss with a few of these almost-neighbors. Who knows, you may make a new buddy or discover a romantic interest. It will cost a lot more, but a correctly fitted walking shoe will not give you blisters or sore feet. That would make for an ideal excuse to give up your fledgling past-time. I do not know about you, but I just can’t wait to start.
