There are such a lot of different health alerts and medical advice that it is tough to know what’s best to do for yourself. The medical reports appear to change from week to week. What’s bad for you one week is thought of as a good thing the subsequent week.
Last week we heard a brief on the revelation that drinking coffee is good for the bowel and a person should drink more of it. It is confusing to grasp who to hear and what to believe.
My sister and I used to lie in the sun for hours getting as dark tan as practicable each summer. We even attempted the sunless tanning lotions that were available, but our skin turned orange and streaky. After I started college I didn’t continue in the pursuit of a tan, however my sister still did. She would go to the tanning booths as well as lay in the sun.
As she aged her skin started to demonstrate the consequences of the lengthened sun exposure, particularly her face. Our other sister is in the medical field and was always cautioning her to wear sun screen and hats or visors to guard her face. My sister agreed that she wanted to take better care of her skin, but she was fond of looking tan.
A fortnight ago I met my sister for lunch. This was the start of spring and many of us still have the white look of winter on our skin.
My sister’s face, neck and hands had a warm tan glow about them. I asked her if they had gone some place warm on holiday or if she was back to the tanning booths. She said to me that she had learned her lesson about tanning and she had found sunless tanning lotions and was using them. She had a healthful glow to her skin without the damage the sun and tanning booths could cause. The use of suntan lotion is still crucial when you’re out of doors for long amounts of time.
